The stars of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' hit the red carpet in Los Angeles on Monday night to premiere the hotly anticipated sequel blockbuster hit 'Twilight.
As daytime turned to twilight in Los Angeles, fans flooded the streets to catch a glimpse of the cast of hot and sexy vampires and werewolves.
Held at the Mann Village Theater, the film's stars including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz all turned up to greet their screaming fans.
Joining Rob, Kristen and Taylor on the red carpet were fellow stars including Dakota Fanning, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Christian Serratos, Emilie de Ravin, Edi Gathegi and Jamie Campbell Bower, as well as author Stephanie Meyer and director Chris Weitz.
Robert Pattinson, who stars as vampire Edward Cullen, said of all the attention from female fans, "You never ever get used to it." He joked that to go out in public he has to "find a good way to disguise myself...I have to make friends with some prosthetics people.
Actor Kellan Lutz, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen, said, "It's a twilight zone, being a part of this phenomenon.
It's a magic carpet ride.
Meanwhile, other celebs making their way to the evening's fete included Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Kennedy, Joan Jett, Richie Sambora, Emma Roberts, Julianne Hough and 50 Cent. Although the screaming Twihard teenage girls were there to see their favorite actors Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, it was the female stars had all eyes on them as they hit the red carpet in show stopping dresses.
Kristen Stewart wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta Spring / Summer 2010 tulle gown, which I loved but not on her. The graceful, flowing gown wasn't her style and made her look older than her 19-years.
While I think everything made by de la Renta is a masterpiece, this wasn't the appropriate dress for Stewart, whose style is edgy and punk rock.
Also, I thought her hair was a disaster.
Hopefully, she'll step it up for the NYC premiere this week.
Meanwhile, Ashley Greene was the belle of the ball in a striking red Prabal Gurung Fall 2009 gown.
Greene knocked it out of the park in the clingy red dress which hugged every curve brilliantly and opted for fire engine red, which stood out among the sea of black.
The high-neck gown had an incredibly sexy draped back and with her dark hair styled half-up-half-down, Ashley had it going on. Teen queen Dakota Fanning, who plays the creepy and evil Volturri member Jane, opted for Valentino's Spring 2010 black lace dress paired with a maroon satin pair of platform heels.
Chic, and age appropriate, Dakota looked fresh on the red carpet.
Model Noot Seear decided to take a chance and wore a bold dress from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 collection.
Instead of wearing the 12-inch armadillo platform heels McQueen debuted on the runway, Noot chose sexy platform heels which completed the overall look.
Author Stephenie Meyer hit the red carpet wearing a custom-made Carolina Herrera gown with a mermaid hem. Stephenie paired the dark, gothic inspired gown with blood red lips in honor of her vampire clan.
Elizabeth Reaser may play the mother of the Cullen clan, but she held her own on the red carpet wearing a hot, little Herve Leger number.
Nikki Reed opted for an adorable silk baby blue Burberry mini dress, paired with Christian Louboutin heels.
I love the dress, but thought it was a bit safe for such a high-wattage red carpet event and wish she would have pushed the envelope a bit more.
Not to be upstaged, Robert Pattinson looked dashing in a smart Gucci suit while newly buff Taylor Lautner wore a blue suit.
Sexy vampire brothers Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale, and Kellen Lutz, who plays Emmet Cullen was also there to the delight of female fans.
Michael Sheen, who plays leader of the Volturi, Aro, took daughter and twi-hard fan Lily to the premiere.
He has said in interviews it was Lily who convinced him to play the part of Aro after reading the books.
Due out in theaters on November 20, "New Moon" author Stephanie Meyer recently spoke with Oprah about watching her work come to the big screen.
"It is crazy surreal," Meyer tells.
"The first time I met any of the actors, we had a dinner kind of just to get to know each other, and they had all been doing test shoots for hair and makeup and costumes all day, so they came in costume to dinner.
Stephanie continues, "And all of a sudden, Carlisle [Peter Facinelli] sits down across from me, and it freaked me out! It's so weird.
You have those moments where you're so used to it, and then you'll be sitting there in the cafeteria, and there's 150 extras milling through a scene and who knows how many people involved in the filming, and there's this huge crowd, and you look around and say, 'This is all because I wrote that dream down.' It's very hard to process.
... Weird."
