I never thought of Eddie Van Halen as a style trendsetter, or even particularly knowledgeable about fashion, so I was surprised when my pal Amy told me he was launching a sneaker line.
I was even more surprised when I saw the collection and wanted a pair for myself.

Fans of Eddie have long admired his Frankenstein-striped sneakers so now he?s giving them what they want and even road-tested the sneakers over the course of several recent Van Halen tours.
The canvas style sneakers, which are available in both high top and low versions, pay homage to Eddie?s guitars throughout the years.
In addition to the red Frankenstein theme, the kicks are also available in white with black stripes, which is a tribute to Eddie?s guitar from 1978 as well as black with yellow stripes, which honors Eddie?s guitar displayed on the back cover of Van Halen II. ?So many people would ask me, ?Where can I get a pair of those??? Van Halen said in a statement.
?After hearing that for about 15 years, I figured they were something that people obviously wanted, so making them available and official seemed like a natural progression.? EVH shoes can be purchased online at www.EVHGear.com and are also available in select department and specialty stores.
