Proenza Schouler debuted their first ever jeans from their one-time-only collaboration with cult denim label J Brand at their Fall 2010 runway show during New York Fashion Week. Not your average denim jeans, these high-rise skinny jeans are made of Japanese stretch denim that is graphic-printed and then hand-painted to accentuate texture and dimension.
"Everyone we know wears J Brand.
It was an easy choice," Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough said in a statement.
"For fall 2010, we are exploring ideas closer to home," the designers said in a statement.
"Urban elements are important as is the idea of uniforms.
Denim fits the bill as the most ubiquitous item in most people's wardrobe.
Proenza Schouler will for the first time, explore this classic element, never-the-less infusing it with the Proenza Schouler DNA." The DNA is an edgy graffiti print which was paired perfectly with everything from classic sweaters to contrasting graphic prints tops.
The limited-edition jeans will hit stores mid-July, and I am definitely predicting a waiting list!
