Hello Kitty will never be the same... Lady Gaga just modeled in a photoshoot for the brand and is sexing up the youthful brand.
Hello Kitty, the fictional character produced by Japanese company Sanrio, is an image that evokes happy memories since I collected anything I could get my little hands on as a child.
Even today, Hello Kitty is hugely popular with the younger generation and continues to provide coveted toys, stationery, clothes, stickers and home appliances.
So it came as a huge surprise to me that Lady Gaga has posed in a series of photos for the brand.
I adore Gaga, but is she the right gal for the job? Perhaps The famously eccentric songbird has posed for a sexy series of pictures for cult brand Hello Kitty, designed to celebrate the famous cat's 35th birthday.
With her eyes closed throughout the photo shoot, Gaga appears doll-like, surrounded by Hello Kitty's signature pink color and tons of plush toys.
In one photo, Lady GaGa wears a jewel-encrusted bra with a matching eye-piece, Marilyn Monroe-style blonde locks, fishnet tights and a Hello Kitty purse strung delicately around her waist strategically covering her Kitty.
In another photo, Gaga poses in front of a gold starburst backdrop wearing Hello Kitty's signature red bow in her hair, and cartoon eyes drawn over her lids.
This one sort of creeps me out. Lady Gaga famously donned a dress covered in plush Kermit the Grogs, so it was only natural she channeled the same type of look into Hello Kitty.
Dressed in a strapless gown made entirely from Hello Kitty plush toys which flows into a sweeping train, once again the singer sports cartoon eyes.
In another photo she wears black lingerie and fishnets covered with a sleeveless black leather biker jacket.
The look is paired with Hello Kitty heels.
The images - by celebrated photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani - will feature on the cover of the special, limited-edition reissue of GaGa's hit album, The Fame. The 23-year-old New Yorker - who is already renowned for her outrageous fashion choices - is reportedly giving away a lock of her hair with every sale of the box-set.
