Since Halloween fell on a Saturday this year, the stars were out in force showing off their playful side in an interesting mix of costumes at an A-list roster of celeb-packed parties.
The party of the weekend was Heidi Klum's 10th Annual Halloween Party, held in West Hollywood, California, which was attended by Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Gerard Butler and Kelly Osbourne. Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt dressed as matching angels in all white complete with matching tutu's. Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren must have taken inspiration from their daughter, Honor, since they dressed as children's characters Dora the Explorer and Diego.
Model Selita Ebanks was one of the most brilliantly dressed of the night in a devilish all-red ensemble.
Her plunging cleavage was barely held in place with a red jewel-encrusted bodice that curled up over her chest into a pair of horns.
Simply dazzling!
Not to be outdone by her guests, Heidi Klum, who only gave birth to her fourth child just over two weeks ago, and husband Seal came as black crows.
The former model's vampish outfit consisted of a coat made from jet-black feathers, fishnet tights and thigh-high black suede boots.
Musician husband, Seal, wore a variation of the same bird costume, but his costume was completed with yellow Marigold gloves and a sunflower in his lapel.
To cap their costumes off, the couple both wore black bird masks with pointy beaks.
Heidi's party is always huge and she revealed that the elaborate costume planning starts every year in July. Rachel Zoe looked super stylish beautiful dressed as an Indian warrior princess (is that Missoni?) with her hippie husband Rodger.
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were spotted out trick-or-treating with their sons, Kingston and Zuma, in Los Angeles.
The foursome stepped out dressed in cute costumes (aside from Gavin), but Gwen took the cake for cutest costume dressed as a cowgirl with the most flawless makeup ever!
Meanwhile, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minillo hosted a lavish haunted-mansion theme party for their close friends and family thrown by LA's The Party Goddess!

Over in New York, Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon hosted a Halloween party at M2 Ultra Lounge dressed as angels.
The singer was spotted wearing a pale silk bodice and nothing but a pair of angel wings and a single elbow-length silk glove to keep her warm as she arrived at the bash.
Cannon sported a white suit paired with matching fluffy wings and halo.
Singer Rihanna went for a typically provocative look with a skimpy tiger outfit as she posed with a fellow revealing partygoer Coco, wife of rapper turned Law And Order actor Ice-T. Kylie Minogue and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie paired up to make Halloween a real fright night as they stepped out in extravagant costumes in New York on the weekend.
An unrecognizable Kylie looked frightfully pale in white panstick make-up, white wig and an outfit that seemed part film character Beetlejuice and part showgirl.
Meanwhile, Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, 34, channeled iconic Egyptian queen Cleopatra with her bronze dress and heavy eye make-up. Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz toasted their "New Moon" release on Saturday night when they hosted a Halloween party at Tao Las Vegas, where they were joined by their TV vampire counterparts, Sam Trammel and Rutina Wesley from HBO's True Blood.
Ashley and Kellan left their Twilight costumes behind for the party hosted by Veuve Clicquot Champagne.
