The undeniable music child of Freddie Mercury and Madonna, Adam Lambert has stepped onto stage of stardom with his fantastic vocals and flamboyant performances.
Unfortunately, the wall of denial and controversy has hit earlier than expected.
American Idol runner up, who lets be honest, pretty much won in all aspects, has been dropped and canceled from more then one ABC appearances.
Glamtastic as usual, Adam held nothing back in his performance at the 2009 American Music Awards.
He incorporated sexual moves and risky dances, truly centering his inner diva.
Yet, surprise, surprise, history repeated itself.
This time however, instead of a Pope's disapproval, like the hullabaloo with Madonna's "Like a Virgin", Lambert faced the displeasure of the large family oriented ABC network and the FCC. The rising star recently Twittered that ABC had canceled scheduled appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the annual Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve special.
In addition, a Good Morning America interview was dropped in concerns that he would give another controversial act "so early in the morning.
The overreacting network has refused to say more while Lambert remains pulled together and classy on the topic, tweeting, ": ( don't blame them.
It's the FCC heat...Let's focus on being positive!
True, ABC may not have been the best station to air something as extravagant as the AMAs, considering it's close relation to the MTV VMA's know for crazy dresses and even more extreme performances.
Nonetheless, I feel the world has forgotten the true essence of live performances.
Take Queen's Freddie Mercury or David Bowie for example, who were known for their ostentatious and "out there" concerts.
Didn't seem to be a problem then.
And we got over and accepted the art of Madonna's performances.
Even more recent was the 2004 Billboard Music Awards where Pink Rubbed a dancers face in her crotch (video below). We didn't care then, so why the big scandal now? So far, Lambert is still set for his appearance on NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" so hopes that this will blow over are still alive.
For something like this to kill such a hot and talented artist's career would be tragic.
